Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation is a collaborative strengths based approach to supporting the social/emotional development of young children. Unlike traditional mental health services, an early childhood mental health consultation focuses on improving childhood outcomes by enhancing the capacity of families, center staff, and early learning programs. We offer two types of consultations: child/ family centered and programmatic.
Child or Family-Centered Consultation
During a child or family-centered consultation parents, center staff, and the mental health consultant work together to identify and address behavioral concerns by implementing individualized positive behavior supports.
Programmatic Consultation
During a programmatic consultation, center staff and the mental health consultant work together to improve the overall quality of a program by addressing specific concerns that impact center staff, families, and children.
